Ivorian government officials  escape death after Emergency helicopter landing

An Ivorian Air Force MI 8 troop transport helicopter made an emergency landing in the locality of Gohitafla on Saturday February 25, 2023 at 5 p.m. with the President of the National Assembly (PAN) and members of the government.

According to a press release from the General Staff, if the reasons for this maneuver remain unknown for the time being, the professionalism of the crew made it possible to carry it out despite the particularly difficult conditions.

Passengers including the President of the National Assembly, Adama Bictogo, the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kandia Camara, the Minister of Budget and State Portfolio Moussa Sanogo and the Vice-President of the Senate all emerged unscathed and arrangements were made for their transport and the securing of the aircraft.

A technical team from the Air Force was immediately formed to determine the causes of this incident. Crash of a helicopter carrying members of the government and the PAN narrowly avoided.
