Two months before the 2023 regional and municipal elections in Côte d’Ivoire, Charles Blé Goudé, and President of the Pan-African Congress for Justice and Equality of Peoples (COJEP) has urged Ivorian politicians to talk to each other to avoid another blood share in Côte d’Ivoire during the upcoming elections.

“I beg your pardon, for the upcoming elections, let us avoid the same scenarios in Côte d’Ivoire, and let us bequeath to future generations a healthy legacy”, he told Liberia Public Radio.

According to Charles Blé Goudé, his political action is aimed at bringing together Ivorians who are struggling to emerge from the trauma of the electoral crisis that the country has experienced, while respecting the ethnic, political and religious differences.

To join the action to the word, the “son” of  former president Laurent Gbagbo proceeded on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at the headquarters of the COJEP located in Cocody Angré, to the launch of the operation “Zero dead, Zero injured” in the next local elections of September 02, 2023.

According to him, this caravan will cross Côte d’Ivoire to meet representatives of political parties, communities and members of civil society from August 9, 2023.

“I will be in the region of the great regions August 10, 2023 and then I will stay more than five (5) days in Haut Sassandra before taking my pilgrim’s staff to continue the tour in other “regions of the country”, he said.

Before confiding he maintain, “I prefer to alert, to raise awareness than to be incapable in the face of the irreparable, there are many who suffer, are traumatized when they hear politics or elections”.

The President of COJEP urged the major players in the Ivorian political sphere to work to prevent Côte d’Ivoire from what he termed as “further crises.”

He believes that “elections are strong symbols of democracy, should be a time to celebrate the freedom of choice, an opportunity to collectively build the future that any country desires”.

Beyond politics, the former president of the Ivorian patriotic galaxy also appealed to the Independent Electoral Commission (CEI), the body responsible for organizing elections in Côte d’Ivoire to conduct free and fair election.

According to him, the tranquility of the electoral post of Ivorians depends on them this body.

“Our peace of mind depends on their sustained sense of responsibility, elections are not organized for one side; we are organizing the elections for Côte d’Ivoire and I know how to count on their sense of responsibility for the upcoming elections, Blé Goudé maintained.

Blé Goudé clarified that a campaign to which he expects massive support, is not pro an individual but pro Côte d’Ivoire.

“If you love Côte d’Ivoire, this citizen campaign is calling you; so that the elections are the reaffirmation of Côte d’Ivoire which is reconciled with the practice of free choice”, he added.
