Scores of community dwellers in the township of Barnesville, on Saturday turned out in large number to concomitate the People United Coming (PUC) Homecoming Day.
The colorful event started with a parade through the principal streets of the community and township by extension and saw citizens and residents chanting slogans and dancing with smile on their faces.
In an interview with Liberia Public Radio, community dwellers expressed their excitement about the way residents including the elderly, youths among others show up for the grand celebration.
Mr Lee T. Tamba Jr., Executive Youth Wing Chairperson, for his part, highlighted the importance of community involvement and unity.
He emphasized that the event showcases the collective spirit of residents in the People United Community adding unity of such kind foster growth and developments of any community.
Mr Ephraim Deogor co chairperson of the Executive Youth Wing expressed his encouragement of seeing the youth coming together in unity and encouraged those who did not participate to join in the future.
Mrs. Tartiea, Chairlady of the Women Wing also stressed the need for increased participation of women in community activities, highlighting the progress made in breaking traditional gender roles.
Executive Chairman Mr Stephen TN Kofa, emphasized on the significance of unity within the community and the leadership plan of establishing a youth center in the community.
He added that Unity plays a crucial role in the success and development of any community, something he asserted foster collaboration, cooperation, and mutual support among community members.
He further that no community can achieve its goals and aspirations without a collective effort noting it is essential for residents of PUC to come together and work towards a common purpose.
Mr Kofa also pledged his leadership full commitment to invest in the human resource capacity focusing on Youth of the community.
He indicated that the construction of a Youth Center will provide valuable opportunities for young people to discuss issues of concern in PUC, Barnesville and Liberia by extension.
