In a promising start to his tenure, Augustine B. Chiewolo, the recently elected representative for Lofa District#5, has outlined his major priorities as a lawmaker for the district.
The representative, who assumed office after a successful election campaign told Power TV morning show Wednesday that is poised to make significant strides in addressing critical issues affecting his constituency.
Road Infrastructure
One of the key areas that Representative Chiewolo has identified for immediate attention is the improvement of road infrastructure in Lofa District#5 which he said remains one of the major challenges in the area.
Recognizing the vital role that accessible and well-maintained roads play in fostering economic development and connectivity, Chiewolo has vowed to collaborate with relevant authorities to initiate and implement road improvement projects within the district.
He told Liberia Public Radio correspondent in Monrovia that quality roads are the backbone of a thriving community, emphasizing that better roads facilitate commerce, improve transportation, and enhance overall living conditions.
Healthcare Services
Representative Chiewolo has also expressed his deep concern for the healthcare needs of the constituents in Lofa District#5.
In a bid to enhance healthcare services, he has pledged to advocate for increased funding and resources to improve existing health facilities and construct new ones.
The Lofa County District #5 lawmaker outlined the lack of medical drugs at the referral health facility in the District the Curran Lutheran Hospital and also disclosed about the consistent complaints from staffs of not getting salaries are some major issues.
Education
At the same time, Rep Chiewolo has acknowledged the critical role of education in shaping the future of the district.
Representative Chiewolo has made it clear that he will prioritize initiatives aimed at improving the educational landscape in Lofa District#5. This includes advocating for increased funding for schools, the training and recruitment of qualified teachers, and the implementation of programs to enhance the overall quality of education.
He added that education is the key to unlocking the full potential of our youth and ensuring a brighter future for our district.
