Search Intensifies for Renowned Hunter Missing in Grand Gedeh

A  renowned hunter beleive to be  in his late 40s has been reported missing in Grand Gedeh County.

Dolo Yarkpawolo Kollie, a member of the Kpelleh tribe, disappeared on Friday, March 22nd, 2024, in Palm Village, along the Zwedru – Bentley gold mining camp highway.

 According to sources close to his family, Mr. Kollie, who is a renowned hunter in the area, had taken some boys to the nearby forest that morning to help him wash dirt containing gold that he had placed on the shore earlier.

After the boys had finished their job, Mr. Kollie paid them and instructed them to return home, as he was planning to go to the other side of the forest for hunting.

However, he has not returned since then. Residents of Palm Village and Bentley gold mining camp have been searching the forest for him.

Effort by our reporter  tried to get a comment from the police proved fruitless, as he was  told that the County police commander and some officers were already in the forest, searching for the missing man.

This is the first time someone has gone missing in the forest, and it has caused fear among residents in the area.

As of now, the whereabouts of hunter Dolo Yarkpawolo Kollie remain unknown, but the search for him is still ongoing.
