Two Liberian female journalists, Dennis Nimpson and Estelle Liberty Kemoh, are now involved in entrepreneurship and were among many entrepreneurs showcasing their Liberian-made products at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf’s Ministerial Complex during a government investment forum.

Madam Dennis Nimpson is the Director of a locally produced natural bissap juice. She shared in an interview that she started producing the juice in her community and church six years ago, and later decided to brand and publicize it three years later. She emphasized the progress made since taking the business to the general public. However, she also highlighted the challenges faced in obtaining imported materials due to current financial burdens but expressed determination in making necessary gains with the limited resources. She emphasized the goal of making DENJAREN Bissap a well-known natural drink produced by Liberians, citing its natural taste and health benefits, including aiding digestion, boosting energy, increasing blood levels, and addressing other health complications.

Madam Nimpson expressed the need for investment to expand the business to cater to the Liberian population, as currently, the business is sourced and funded by family.

Estelle Liberty Kemoh is the manager of the Purukpen Agriculture Farm, which produces plantain fufu and Deepah (dust of dried cassava). The agriculture farm has an initial partner, UNIDO, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization. Iren Borbor, a volunteer at the farm, mentioned that the products were previously sold to end-users but now have added value to the products and have plans to diversify the product line by introducing new cassava and plantain flour products.
