Former Gbarpolu County Senator, Theodore S.B. Momo, has been appointed as the acting Director General at the National Bureau of Concession (NBC) by President Joseph Nyuma Boakai.

During the official handover on August 23, 2024, former Director General Atty. Edwin Dennis commended former President George M. Weah for entrusting him to lead the NBC for four years and praised Acting Director General Theodore Momo for his patience and cooperation during the transition.

Momo expressed gratitude to Atty. Dennis for his leadership of the NBC over the past four years and acknowledged the positive impact it has had on Liberia’s governance system under his stewardship. He also stated that the administration will continue to rely on Dennis for guidance and as a valuable source of institutional knowledge and memory for the NBC.

The Acting Director General (DG) of the National Bureau of Concessions expressed gratitude to the Deputy Director Generals of Concessions and Administration for their contributions to the advancement of the working of the NBC.

He considered them ‘automatic’ members of his team and expressed hope that they would bring with them their enriched experiences, skills, and vision to solidify the transition from the previous administration to his. T

he Acting DG pledged to endeavor in mobilizing resources for the institution’s effective implementation of its statutory mandate by working with the National Legislature to increase the budget of the NBC. He emphasized the continuance of engagement with development partners and the importance of professionalism, transparency, accountability, and results.

The Acting DG called on all staff to focus on their assigned tasks and encouraged them to work together with mutual respect, tolerance, dialogue, problem-solving, and cordiality.

The National Chairman of the Unity Party, Rev. Luther Tarpeh, commended Atty. Edwin Dennis for his cooperation during the turnover at the NBC and expressed confidence in the leadership ability of Acting DG Theodore Momo.

The President of the National Bureau of Concession Workers Union, Mr. Alphonso K. Hena, praised President Joseph Nyuma Boakai for appointing Hon. Momo due to his track records and promised to work with him to ensure NBC makes significant contributions to the growth of Liberia.
