The Paynesville Magisterial Court has summoned Eugene L. Fahngon, Director General of the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS), over what legal luminaries described as persistent non-support to his son, Eugene Lamie Fahngon, Jr.

Under Liberian laws, a person commits a misdemeanor if he or she persistently fails to provide support which he or she can provide and which he or she knows he or she is legally obliged to provide to a spouse, child or other dependent.

According to a complaint filed with the court against Mr. Fahngon, Madam Fatmata Mansaray, mother of Fahngon Jr., since 2023, the LBS Director General stopped supporting his child and the mother.

She narrated that Mr. Fahngon’s discontinuation of support to his child and the mother has rendered both mother and son “family liability.”

She also informed the court that the LBS boss has threatened to fight back by waging a legal battle against her, should she dare challenging him by taking the matter anywhere.

Predicated upon Madam Mansaray’s complaint, the Stipendiary Magistrate of the Paynesville City Magisterial Court, Cllr. William G. Saygah, today cited Mr. Fahngon to a conference scheduled for Thursday, February 20, 2025.
