More than 125 young people from 12 towns in the B’hai District of Grand Gedeh County are expected to vote today in a local election to choose their next youth leader.
Each town will send 10 representatives to cast their votes, and an additional 5 students from the Toe Memorial Institute will represent the student community.
The election is organized by the county youth leadership and aims to empower young voices while promoting civic engagement among the area’s growing youth population.
The race is between two well-known candidates: Solomon Pajibo, who previously served as the acting district youth president, and Jackson Saryee, the former vice president of the Toe City Youth. Both candidates have been actively engaged in youth advocacy and have spent the past week connecting with voters and presenting their visions focused on education, empowerment, and community growth.
Polling will take place at the Town Hall in Toe City, the only designated site for all voters in the district.
Results are expected to be announced later on Monday, June 2, 2025
The winner will serve a two-year term, representing the youth of B’hai in regional forums and collaborating closely with local authorities to promote youth-centered policies and development initiatives.
This election marks the fourth youth election held in the district since the end of the civil conflict.
