Finance Minister Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan has announced that the Government of Liberia has received formal communication from the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Board, reaffirming Liberia’s compact eligibility.

This potential award, valued at approximately US$500 million, represents a pivotal step forward in Liberia’s development efforts.

The confirmation follows the MCC Board’s approval of Liberia’s eligibility in December 2024. During a press briefing in Monrovia, Minister Ngafuan highlighted the strategic leadership behind the milestone.

“The President wasn’t just delivering eloquent speeches in Washington—he was making calculated, impactful decisions,” Ngafuan remarked. “After extensive review, we’ve received an official letter from Ms. Alicia Robinson-Morgan, MCC’s Managing Director for Africa, confirming the Board’s reaffirmation of Liberia’s compact status.”
