The President’s Young Professional Program (PYPP) recently hosted a one-day reflection forum for prospective graduates, allowing them to share their experiences while working at various public and private institutions.

The fellows were placed in multiple government ministries, agencies, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to gain practical, hands-on knowledge and skills, making them adaptable to diverse work cultures and more marketable. As part of the two-year program, they were assigned to the Ministries of Finance, National Defense, the Central Bank of Liberia, the Liberia Standards Authority, the Liberia Electricity Corporation, and the Civil Service Agency, as well as organizations like Conservation International Liberia and The Nature Compact.

Feedback from the incoming graduates was overwhelmingly positive, filled with inspiring testimonials about how they acquired life-changing skills that supplemented their university education.

The fellows assured the management of PYPP that they are now able, alongside their degrees, to demonstrate proficiency in work ethics and leadership.

Recognizing the significant contributions made by the fellows at various government ministries and agencies, the Civil Service Agency has decided to incorporate those assigned to public institutions into the government payroll.

The Deputy Director General for Administration and Finance, Dahnu Mianyen, stated that the management of the CSA reached a unanimous decision on this matter.

“The CSA is extremely proud of the performance of the incoming graduates, and we will ensure that, through its Director General, they remain in the various entities where they are currently assigned,” Mr. Mianyen said.

PYPP Executive Director Madam Ciatta Stevens D’Almeida noted that this cohort was recruited in 2022 and was officially accepted into the program in 2023.

She  thanked Conservation International and others who continue to support the PYPP initiative

She told Liberia Public Radio that the official graduation ceremony will take place later  August 2025, following rigorous training and hands-on experience.

She emphasized that the PYPP program has no geographical restrictions in its recruitment process, as it only enrolls individuals who truly meet the standards  set by PYPP.

The PYPP was established in 2009 by the Liberian government to enhance the skills of young graduates, enabling them to meet the job market demands.
