President Boakai applauds  decision to extend the validity of U.S. visas to 36 months for Liberians

The United States Department of State’s decision to amend its visa reciprocity schedule for Liberia and extend the validity length of some nonimmigrant visas from 12 months to 36 months is welcomed by President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr.
The US government stated today that certain types of visas for Liberians traveling to the US will have their stay periods extended. This announcement was made in an official statement issued by the US State Department.

Liberian applicants for B1 (Business), B2 (Tourism), and B1/B2 (Business/Tourism Combination) visas will now receive multiple-entry visas good for three years, with no reciprocity charge, under the new policy, which goes into effect immediately.
The ruling is “a clear demonstration of the strong and enduring partnership between Liberia and the United States, grounded in mutual respect, shared democratic values, and a common vision for progress,” according to President Boakai.

The President said, “This new arrangement reflects growing confidence in Liberia’s progress and global engagement. It opens new doors for our citizens to explore educational, cultural, and economic opportunities while strengthening our bilateral cooperation with the United States.”
President Boakai emphasized the initiatives taken by his administration to improve Liberia’s relations with other countries and guarantee that Liberians gain from a more welcoming and open international community.


The Liberian leader conveys his nation’s gratitude to the U.S. government and appreciates this development. He went on to say that this action will promote more prospects for travel, commerce, and interpersonal relationships between the two nations.


Madam Sara Beysolow Nyanti, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated that she will continue to work with the U.S. Government and other nations to further expand areas of mutual collaboration and advantages for Liberian residents overseas in order to further the President’s Foreign Policy vision.
