African Union Congratulates President Ouattara on Re-election in Côte d’Ivoire

The African Union (AU) has formally congratulated President Alassane Ouattara of Côte d’Ivoire on his re-election, following the announcement of official results by the country’s electoral commission.

In a statement released by the AU headquarters in Addis Ababa, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, extended his best wishes to President Ouattara, commending his renewed mandate to lead the West African nation.

The AU praised the Ivorian electorate for their active participation in the democratic process and acknowledged the role of national institutions in ensuring a credible and peaceful election. The Commission urged all political and civil society stakeholders to uphold peace, foster inclusive dialogue, and reinforce national unity in the post-election period.

Reaffirming its commitment to Côte d’Ivoire, the AU expressed readiness to support the country’s efforts toward strengthening democratic governance, stability, and sustainable development.

The statement also recognized Côte d’Ivoire’s ongoing contributions to regional peace and security, emphasizing the AU’s intention to continue close collaboration with Ivorian authorities to advance prosperity across the region.
