Its nice to have the kayak paddle for this, as we paddle faster. I put foot pegs in it too which made it a lot better. I remedied this problem with the purchase of a lightly padded plastic seat and a little ingenuity. I took the damn seat out and put in a low beach chair and ureka! The 'freeboard' is a bit high thus creating a bit of wind resistance. But if you find a used Discovery 119k and dont mind a bit of modification, I really recommend you consider same.
