Montserrado County District#10 Lawmaker Representative Yekeh Kolubah says it is now time that opposition political parties come together and recuse Liberia from those he termed as ‘greedy’ hunters.

Montserrado County is the most popular county in Liberia, where the Liberian capital Monrovia is located.

Speaking Sunday when he officially joined collaborating political parties, Unity party, Alternative National congress, Liberty party and the All Liberian Party, Rep Yekeh Kolubah said he will continue to speak against ills of the ruling party led by President George Weah until the right things are done.

Yekeh added that he remains undeterred no matter what level of threat the ruling party lawmakers make against him about impeachment. “I will speak for the Liberian people for the next five years I am not about soliciting signatures to impeach me”, he told his supporters at the unity party headquarters on Sunday.

‘We need to liberate the country from this greedy hunter, our people are dying, I have come to work together. You can call on me anytime I am ready to work”, Rep Kolubah asserted.

According to Representative Kolubah, under the leadership of soccer legend President George Weah corruption and ‘looting’ of country resources combined with economic stagnation have become the order of the day.

Responding, the chairman of the collaborating parties, businessman turned politician Benoni Urey welcomed Representative Yekeh Kolubah for his decision to join the collaborating parties. Mr. Urey said Liberia is at a critical stage and if nothing is done to liberate the country the generation will hold them responsible. Urey also used the occasion to call on leaders of the collaborating parties that nothing should breakdown the collaboration because the Liberian people are watching them.

Representative Yekeh Kolubah is among few lawmakers at the Liberian legislature that continue to criticize president George Weah for what they called ‘bad governance’ ranging from violation of the Liberian constitution and construction of personal properties by the president.

Rep Kolubah to be interrogated

In a related development, the national radio station in Liberia ELBC Monday reported that Representative Yekeh Kolubah has been invited by security authorities in Liberia for alleging that he and President George Weah spoke weed (cigarette) together at the time Weah was still playing football. LPR is yet to independently verify this report.
