Rep Yekeh has over time criticized the Weah led government for bad governance in the Weah's administration

Montserrado County Attorney Edwin Martin says his office has officially cited Montserrado County District#10Representative Yekeh Kolubah over recent comments he made against President George Weah.

Montserrado County Attorney Cllr. Edwin  Martin also accused former Vice President Joseph Boakai and the leader of opposition All Liberian Party Benoni Urey of working in collaboration with Representative Yekeh Kolubah to “dethrone” the George Weah-led government.

On Sunday Representative Yekeh Kolubah and supporters marched through the Tubman Boulevard to the headquarters of the Unity Party (UP) where he officially joined the four collaborating political parties.

According to Rep. Kolubah, the march, which was peaceful and guarded by scores of police officers, was intended for him to lend his support to the planned June 7 mass protest against ‘bad governance’ and  also join the four collaborating parties.

However, in a rather strong worded statement, the County Attorney on Monday said, “We register serious concern over the statement made by Rep. Yekeh Kolubah when he said ‘We will move as soon as you our leaders ask us to do”.

Cllr. Martin noted that for Rep. Kolubah to make such remark in the presence of former Vice President Boakai and opposition leader Urey without any reaction from them suggests to him that they are all working in concert to disrupt the peace of the country and bring the tenure of President Weah to a premature end.

Both former vice president Boakai and Mr. Urey could not be reached for comments on the allegation on Monday.

Cllr. Martin made particular reference to Rep. Kolubah’s assertion that they “will make the government of President George M. Weah to run away from power”.

Cllr. Martin: “This behavior of the Honorable Representative is absolutely incompatible with the exercise of freedom of speech and freedom of peaceful assembly.

He added that the threats made by Rep. Kolubah cannot be taken lightly, instead, they are cleverly planned, organized and are being staged to achieve one objective, to destabilize the Weah-led government and impose upon the Liberian people a devilish and wicked system.

However, Cllr. Martin has invited Rep. Kolubah to appear before him on Tuesday, 12noon (8:00 AM EST) for questioning over his alleged statements.

When contacted, Rep. Yekeh Kolubah said he cannot subject himself to Cllr. Martin for any investigation.

“I think the Cllr was under the influence of drugs, I am an elected representative of my people not appointed as the county attorney; therefore, I cannot submit myself to him,” Rep. Kolubah told OK FM’s afternoon show.

Representative Yekeh Kolubah is among few lawmakers at the Liberian legislature that continue to criticize president George Weah for what they called ‘bad governance’ ranging from violation of the Liberian constitution and construction of personal properties by the president.

This is not the first time authority of government has invited Representative Yekeh Kolubah over strong wordy comments.  In January, the Liberia National Police through it civilian complain board extended an invitation to Representative Yekeh Kolubah following disruption of a children’s party organized by he [Kolubah] to provide clarity to police on his comment about President George Weah but the lawmaker rubbished the invitation.

It is however not clear whether Representative Kolubah will submit to the invitation this time around as up to Tuesday afternoon there was information about his appearance at the county attorney office.
