Montserrdo County District #4 Representative Rustonlyn Suacoco Dennis has cautioned political fanatics from both the government and opposition circle to desist from making what she called “reckless statements” that has the desire appetite to disrupt the country’s fragile peace and emerging democracy.

The lawmaker making the assertions at her District #4 Central Political Office in Soul Clinic last weekend Rep. Dennis said her  attention to  was drawn to Mulbah Morlu, National Chairman of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) and Unity Party (UP) Chairman Wilmot Paye  statements she believes have the tendency to provoke violence across the country.

Rep. Rustonlyn Suacoco Dennis states: “My attention has been caught to my two good friends, Chairman Mulbah Morlu and Chairman Wilmot Paye. They walked to their offices to give simple press statements or parade the streets with chants behind them all the time throwing shades at each of their opponents.

Their moves have all been provocative, and they allowed their supporters to do what they are doing. This can lead to serious uprising and violence”, she added.

The Chair on Claims and Petition at the House of Representative urged the two political stalwarts especially Morlu to demonstrate adulthood in the function of their personal political duties without instilling uncalled-for fear in the minds of the already suffering mass of the populace.

“I think the party chairs need to be more diligent, gallant and matured in handling their respective duties, especially Chairman Morlu. The reckless statements have got to stop”, she warned.

Rep. Dennis has also termed as ‘noisy’ the uncontrollable waves of unrefined remarks constantly coming from officials of government not authorized to speak on the government behalf. She cautioned public officials be mindful of their utterances in the public sphere as their followers may desire to replicate their utterances into actions.

“I pray they watch their moves and their utterances in the public. As leaders, our followers imitate us, our postures, utterances, tones and so forth. I hope we all understand what leadership meant before taking up on it. I think the ruling party is just too noisy with lot of spokespersons and it is serious problem for all of us. The CDC led government needs to put this situation under control as soon as possible”, the District #4 Lawmaker asserted.

Dennis said such statement from those she labeled as a “group of malevolent or terroristic group” is not only a threat to a sitting lawmaker but rather a gross bigotry to all critical voices of this ruling establishment and poses a grave safety risk to the entire country.

At the same time Rep Dennis has called on international partners including the United Nation, (UN) African Union (AU the European Union (EU) the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and Civil Society Organization (CSOs) to intervene and help resolve the current political stalemate.
