3rd division league ends in Nimba as Almighty FC walk away with trophy

The Liberia Football Association (LFA) National 3rd division league came to an end over the weekend in Ganta City, Nimba County. 

Almighty FC of Ganta City defeated Wonta FC of  Sanniquellie City 3 goals to 1 in post match penalty at the Ganta Stadium on Sunday to clinch the National 3rd Division Championship.

Both teams were meeting for the second time to determine the champion of the league. 

After a though match which ended zero all, it  was Almighty FC of Ganta that took the day in a post match penalty. 

However, the two teams will represent Nimba County at the regional playoff on July 28,2019 in Sanniquellie at the regional playoff which involve two (2) teams from Nimba, Bong and Lofa counties each. 

The LFA-Nimba Sub Association chairman, Mr. Tomah Seh Floyd and Mr. Benedict Yarsiah, Competition Director of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) were both in attendance to watch the game. 

70,000.00 Liberian Dollars, medals and a giant size trophy was awarded to Almighty FC the first winner while  2nd winner Wonta FC from Sanniquellie received 10.000 Liberian Dollars plus medals. 

The LFA – Nimba sub Association thank their sponsors, Green Petroleum and the LFA- President Mustafa I. Raji.
