In keeping with promises made to his people during the campaign period in Montserrado County, Senator Abraham Darius Dillon has made public his asset on his official Facebook page.

The Montserrado county senator during his campaign promised to declare his assets and make known his salary to the people of the county and country.

Upon his introduction at the Liberian senate, the opposition Liberty Party senator declared his assets and asked his colleagues to follow his footstep, something which prompted the senate pro-tempore to threaten him with explosion.

The threat by the senate pro-tempore to Senator Dillon was seem not to move him as he took to his official facebook account to post his income, asserts and liability.

Senator Dillon in his declaration a copy in position of Liberia Public Radio declared Twenty thousand Liberian dollars in his account, a UBA account number 530360015618 with amount of $ 3.50 a Toyota MR of 229G01688359 worth $ 40,000.00 USD and a house value at 35,000.00 USD totaling 76,000.00 USD.

Dillon also promised to take home five thousand United States dollars out of the reported monthly 15,000.00 USD monthly earning for each senator at the Liberian senate.

According to him, the five thousand will be used by him to take care of his family while the balance ten thousand will go in an extra account that will be managed by citizens of Montserrado to carry out development initiatives.

The Newly inducted Montserrado senator has vowed to be the voice of the common people at the house of elders at the Liberian parliament.

Dillon vs Senate Pro-tempore

Welcoming Senator Dillon last week Pro Tempore Albert T. Chie, told Dillon that in the Senate, the Bible is the Rules of the Senate, adding, “This is a political house, and here, we do politics; you were elected by the people of Montserrado County, but from today’s date, you belong to the Senate.

That is why the framers of the Liberian Constitution stipulates that the power to remove you from here is not with the people, it is with those of us that are here.

He also reminded Dillon that in the Senate, they do serious business; “Legislative politics is practical, and is different from text book politics”, he told Dillon.
