“I don’t really know Tonia very well but I gave him the benefit of the doubt. I felt if we really want to send down the right message to the rest of the players, we have to make a stand.

“I think it was important for him to go and reflect. An opportunity for him to reflect and maybe changed his attitude toward camp.

“We got lots of youngsters in the team like Gasimu Kouyateh and Ashley Williams. What does that message send down to those youngsters – if you allow people to be disrespectful?

“Under my watch, you are going to do this. He knows what he did in my opinion wasn’t acceptable.

“We had to send him out of camp. It sent the message out to the players that we are not messing up around here.

“We want to rebuild this Liberian team and win football matches and to do that, you need discipline,” Butler said when he appear on FABRIC Weekend Sports on September 21, 2019.

Tisdell has 13 caps for Liberia, having made his debut in a goalless World Cup qualifier against Algeria in Monrovia on 11 October 2008.
