The Nimba County Community college on Wednesday capped and batched about 45 nursing students of the institution.
The capping, batching and candle lighting program which took place at the auditorium of Nimba County Community college was the 5th since the establishment of the institution in 2010.
Capping and batching is one of the regular requirements of nursing program for students who are studying the program at various universities.
Students who were capped during the ceremony are those who have completed their fundamental courses and are expected to commenced their clinical practices at various clinics while continue their studies.
Serving as keynote speaker of the occasion, the Health promotion officer of the Nimba County health team Lee Danio called on the students to morally conduct themselves in this 21st century in the interest of their patients.
Speaking on the topic “The life of comfort and healing” Danio cautioned them to be patient with those they provide care for as they go about their nursing career.
The county health promotion officer further challenged the students to be an advocate for their patients, listen to instructions and be innovative.
“This field you are entering requires more discipline, commitment and care for humanity”.
Danio maintained that the candle light by the students simplify that they should serve as light during the dark days of their patients in any situation.
“The light also means that you should not work alone, but work together as a team, that’s the reason we light it together and not alone”, he cautioned.
