Mark Arthur 47th minute goal for Nimba against Bong was enough to secure her spot in the 2019/2020 national county meet quarter finals.
Nimba County join River Cess, Bomi, Grand Kru, Gbapolu and other counties in the big 8 of the national county meet quarter finals to be played on January 18 & 19 at the famous Samuel Kayon Doe sports complex in Paynesville city outside Monrovia.
Nimba came 2nd in zone “B”, a group that was described by many sport pundits as zone of death with 3 points after defeating Bong county.
Bong who only needed a draw to qualify alone with host Lofa hope was dashed by Nimba attacker Mark Arthur in the 47th minute.
Both teams started the game with attacks and missing a couple of goal scoring opportunities thus ending the 1st half goalless.
Returning from recess, Nimba did not waste time, but launched another attack on her opponent wining a corner kick for themselves.
A header from an attacker of Nimba was rebounded by Bong goalkeeper Princeton Sonie giving an opportunity to Mark Arthur to capitalize on it.
Nimba who join host Lofa to qualify from their zone will now meet Gbapolu on January 19 2020 at the famous Samuel Kayon Doe sports complex in the second quarter finals game.
