A  group of concerned citizens from Yarnee District in River Cess County has raised alarm of a perpetual abandonment  of a clinic project in Kblagba, Rockcess Chiefdom in the district.

Speaking to LPR Correspondent in an exclusive interview in Cestos City, the head of the citizens’ group, Merlin George alleged that over LRD$2,000,000,00 Liberian Dollars, 70% of fifteen thousand United States Dollars was disbursed to contractors for the completion of the Clinic since June of 2019, but the clinic is yet to be dedicated.

The clinic project has been under construction for over ten years now.

Mr. George said during River Cess last county sitting held in 2018,  allocated 15,000 United States Dollars to the project with 70% of that amount already paid to the contraction firm with the assurance of handing over keys to the county administration in seventy working days upon completion since June of last year.

The head of the concerned citizens is therefore concern about River Cess Electoral District Two Representative Byron Zahnwea being in the know of the clinic status which falls in his constituency.

Responding to the citizens’ concern on the perpetual abandonment  of the Kbla-gba Clinic, the District Two Lawmaker said, he will this week file a lawsuit against River Cess Project Management Committee headed by Alphonso Romeo Kebbeh over the standstill of the project.

Representative Zahnwea said he has communicated on several occasions requesting reports from the county local administration relative to the status of the project, but to no avail.

He further claimed that for two years now a single project is yet to be dedicated to the people of River Cess by Superintendent Bismark Karbiah’s administration.
