Another Nimba Organization donates to health facilities across the county

As the fight against coronavirus continue across the world, another Nimba organization based in the diaspora United Nimba Development Association (UNDA) in Iowa has made huge food donation to various health facilities across the county.

Making the donation in Nimba over the weekend, the Country representative of the organization Atty. Lawrence Sua said, the donation was sons and daughters of the county living in Iowa way of contributing towards the fight against coronavirus.

UNDA donated about 26 bags of 25 Kg rice to various health facilities to each of the 9 electoral districts in the county totalling 234 bags of rice.

Atty. Sua further explained that the initiative of the organization is headed by the Co-Chairman of the group Preston Paye who is serving as Chairman for the fight against coronavirus.

He asserted that they decided to identify with the health sector because they are the ones in the frontline combating other diseases as well as the coronavirus in the county.

The UNDA Liberia representative mentioned that they will continue to help in the fight against Covid-19 to ensure that the virus is defeated in Liberia.

Health institutions that benefited from the donation include the G. W Harley Hospital in Sanniquellie, the St Mary’s Clinic in Sanniquellie, Duo Tiayee clinic, Saclepea Comprehensive Health center, Kpehn clinic, Zekepa health center, Mehnlah clinic, and Kpatuo clinic among others.

Receiving donation on behalf of G. W. Harley Hospital Resident Medical Doctor Dr. Siaffa Sano lauded the organization for the gesture.

For his part, the nursers Director at the G. W Harley Hospital Joseph Nenwah applauded sons and daughters of county for looking back especially during this pandemic period. 

Nenwah described the donation as timely, and ‘will go a long way’ adding that they are were in the business of feeding patients who are admited at the hospital. 

The various OIC’s and administrators of health facilities in Nimba also appreciated UNDA for what they termed as ‘timely intervention’ promising that the food will be used for its intended purpose.
