An International nongovernmental organization AIFO working with persons living with disability in Liberia has presented several coronavirus preventive materials to some members of PWDs in Sanniquellie City Nimba County.

Presenting the materials on behalf of the organization, the Regional Field Coordinator of AIFO Jonathan Davis said, the materials were part of his institution’s many efforts to empower persons living with disability in the fight against Covid 19.

AIFO is an acronym of an Italian organization known as “Association Itain Amici di Raoul Follereau” working with Persons living with disability in Liberia.

It is also a grassroots organization with groups and regional coordination covering the whole of Italy.

It is also an international network organisation with member associations in India, Brazil and Mongolia.

Mr. Davis disclosed that the material distribution is under the project coded R3 point 3 or community engagement in Mental Health.

The AIFO Regional Field Coordinator said about thirty three (33) members of the PWD were trained by them and empowered to provide for their families, something he said giving them the Covid 19 preventive materials was intended to boost their efforts in the fight.

Receiving the items on behalf  of the beneficiaries, the president emeritus of the Nimba Disable community Mrs. Nenlay G. Doe lauded AIFO for the gesture.

Mrs. Doe mentioned that the materials donation was timely, adding that PWDs can only help in the fight against the Covid 19 if they are aided in their efforts to prevent the spread of the virus.

Materials donated included, detol, locally made laundry soap, chloride and buckets.
