Bong County Senator Henry Willie Yallah has admitted that the VP Jewel Howard Taylor forgiveness and support to him is crucial to his political survival.
According to Yallah, despite the political differences between him and Madam Taylor in the past, she needs to forgive him to promote the image of the coalition for Democratic change.
“I trust the judgment of the Vice President. We are all politicians. We flip the path at a moment. We were on different sides by then; but now we are on the same side. So she needs to support me” Senator begged.
Senator Yallah is among three senators who recently crossed over to the governing Coalition for Democratic Change to boost his political morale in the county after serving in the national legislature barely nine years.y
He openly admitted that he has had a very good relationship with VP Taylor in the past counting from her quest to contest at the Liberian senate as the President Pro-tempore in 2012, something he also thinks will pave his way for her support.
The Bong County Senator also thinks the election of Dr. Henrique Flomo Tokpa has brought disunity in Bong County.
“We felt that bringing on board Dr. Henrique Flomo Tokpa could have brought unity to the county. That was our thought. The county knows that the division is attributed to the election of Dr. Henrique Flomo Tokpa.
I actually made a mistake to campaign for Dr. Tokpa” senator Yallah openly confessed to citizens.
Madam Jewel Howard Taylor is on record of acussing Senator Henry Willie Yallah of being very good at preaching divisiveness in the county adding that he is in the constant hobbit of undermining her efforts in the county.
Madam Taylor is quoted in an audio in 2018 as saying “Forget senator Yallah; he doesn’t respect anybody. He is good at undermining people.”
The Liberian Vice President, who is a strong political figure in Bong county support to the senator remains unclear as there have been mounting ramous in the county of secretly pledging her support to unpopular senate’s chief clerk, J. Nangbolor Singbah due to the historical rift between her and Yallah; something her office has remained silent on.
But in response, Senator Henry Willie Yallah said “She is not a wicked person. She is a Christian. One of the fundamental things in Christianity is forgiveness. So she needs to forgive me.”
The Bong County senator who has vehemently been criticized by Bongese for not doing much in the county since he got elected in October 2011 feels that his works over the years will pave his way for another nine years at the national legislature.
Senator Yallah is poised for re-election as he faces other aspirants including Deputy Speaker Prince K. Moye, Youth Activist Menipakie Dumoe, Former influential FLY president, Mohammed A. Nasser, former Ambassador to USA, Mexico and Canada, Jeremiah Sulunteh, former legal adviser to the FDA, Cllr. Benedict K. Sabgeh, former DEN-L Boss Madam Dorothy Tooman and former Agriculture minister of Liberia, Dr. Mogana S. Flomo, Jr. in the county.
Many Bongese have identified Madam Jewel Howard Taylor’s support in the December 8 senatorial election in Bong County as vital as she is a change maker who dents any politician based on the works done counting from the regime of former and jailed president Charles G. Taylor.
They also feel no politician can helm any leadership in the county without her political and strategic involvement as they also consider her as a political god-mother in the county.
Before his election in 2011, Senator Yillah worked in the office of senator Jewel Howard Taylor now vice president.
