Jerry Yorgbor foundation assists Battery Factory Youths

As part of plan aimed at empowering young people , the Jerry K. Yorgbor Foundation has donated construction materials valued over 500 United States Dollars to the Federation of Shoe Factory Youths in the Township of Gardnerville.

The materials donated include, 200 pieces of blocks, 15 bags of cement, one and half buddle of roofing sheets, 29 pieces of plank, eight pieces of steel rod and two trucks loaded with sand were officially handed over during the weekend.

Speaking during the presentation ceremony, the spokesperson of the Friends of Jerry K. Yorgbor, Emmanuel Worjiloh, said the donation is the goodwill of Mr. Yorgnor who is currently in the United States.

Mr. Worjilor assured the youths of the Jerry K Yorgbor Foundation commitment in the construction of the intellectual and resources center.

Receiving the items, the spokesperson of the Federation of Battery Youths, Aaron Harris, thanked the Jerry K Yorgbor Foundation for the donation to the proposed intellectual and resource center.

He assured the foundation that the materials will be used for its intended purpose and called on other well meaning residents to contribute to the project.

According to Mr. Harris, the alley on which the center will be constructed was identified by elders in the community in order to stimulate intellectual discourse on national issues among young people.

He disclosed that US$950.00 is still needed to construct the first phase of the center and the estimation for the second portion will subsequently follow based on the level the materials donated so far will reach.

The Federation of Battery Factory Youth, according to him is considering establishing a computer learning center, a mini library and intellectual forum.

Mr. Harris disclosed that the center will also be used as a center for community meeting in order to bring development to the residents.
