Liberia: Another LRA Employee Dies in Car Crash after been hit by unknown men

Days after two Liberia Revenue Authority employees were found dead in a packed car, another death involving another staff of the LRA occurred on Sunday evening following a car accident.

The police confirmed to local media that Mr. George F. Fanbutu was pronounced dead at the John F. Kennedy Memorial Medical Center on Sunday after he reportedly lost control his steering wheel on the 72nd Boulevard, hit a pedestrian identified as Saar Fayiah and the car rested in the house of one Dr. Joseph P. K. Boika in the Roland Duo curve on the 72nd Boulevard.

An insider who spoke to Liberia Public Radio who preferred not to be named said Mr. Fanbutu was first hit by some unknown men prior to his car losing control and ran off the road.

He was later taken at the JFK Medical Center in Sinkor, where he was pronounced dead on arrival (DOA) while the pedestrian is admitted at a local clinic in Roland Duo Community undergoing medical treatment.

He was an auditor at the Liberia Revenue Authority where Mr. Albert Peters and Mrs. Gifty Lama mysteriously found dead last Friday in  a parked vehicle on Broad Street.

Investigation is ongoing,” the police said.

The sequence of events is raising eyebrows with many linking the latest death as a chain to the deaths of Mr. Albert Peters and Mrs. Gifty Lama.

Gifty Lamah’s husband foresees ‘foul play’

For his part, Former Montserrado County Development Superintendent Sylvester Lama has decried a ‘Foul’ played in the death of his wife Gifty Ashma Lama who was recently discovered Dead along with Mr. Albert Peters in a parked Vehicle on Snapper Hill up Broad Street in Monrovia.

Mr. Lama dismissed rumor that he and his wife was on separation adding that those who carrying such rumor around are from the “belly of the devil.”

According to Mr. Lama, he  and his wife have an agreement for her to move at the ELWA junction in order to be on time at work due to the location of where  their property is situated in Brewerville Morton corner community and return during the weekend along with the  children.

Speaking in an interview with journalists at the St. Moses funeral Parlour in Garnderville, Mr. Lama told journalists that on Thursday October 1,2020, his wife and father had discussion for him to use her car but at about 11am on the same day, her father called her continually but there was no answers of those numerous calls made by him.

He stated that about 7pm, his sister in law Rebecca Ashma called him and told that they have been calling his wife but no answer and he needed to come for all of them to go in search of her thus prompting him to chapter a commercial taxi from Brewerville Morton corner and began searching for her.

Narrating further, he said they visited various health facilities including JFK and the police headquarters whether there was any accident case reported to them but to their dismay nothing of such was discovered.

The Liberia National Police is yet to make full investigation report into the mysterious death of the two LRA employees.
