Amid December 8 elections, renowned Nimba journalist wants collaborative efforts

A Liberian broadcast Journalist and Manager of Radio Nimba a local Radio Station in Sanniquellie Nimba Country, has called for the collaborated efforts from every citizen if the ensuring December 8, a special senatorial election must be peaceful. 

Appearing as a guest on the Program Press forum on Radio Nimba Sunday night, Melvin L. Suah, indicated that Politicians, partisans, political parties, citizens, and the media need to play a pivotal role to sustain the country’s fragile peace. 

Manager Suah called on politicians, supporters, and sympathizers of politicians to stick to their platform or manifesto and disengage from personally attacking and ill discussing other candidates if the elections are to end void of chaos. 

Melvin L. Suah who is a graduate of the state-run University of Liberia from the communication Department in Mass Communication stressed that the reason for conducting elections in a country is to have a democratic process that is meant for the development of the county and country at large.

He at the same time cautioned all electoral Magistrates and workers of the National Elections Commission (NEC) to perform their duties with a high level of integrity and without fear or favor. 

Suah cautioned NEC not to be deterred by the accusation, but to do the right thing to keep the country peaceful.

The Radio Nimba manager further called on citizens to collaborate with the National Election Commission to ensure that every rules and regulation governing the process are upheld for a peaceful, free, fair, and transparent election. 

He asserted that elections are everyone’s business, adding that the involvement of the ordinary citizens peacefully will make the process end with candidates and their supporters accepting their results.
