Authorities of the Liberian National Police have made a major breakthrough in the case involving the death of a reporter of Radio Paraclete in Gbarnga, Bong County.
During a press briefing Involving Information Minister Ledgerhood J. Rennie and Press Union of Liberia President Charles Coffey on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, Police Inspector General Patrick Sudue said the deceased, Chris David Brown, is alleged to have been involved in a case of theft when he was reportedly shot on Thursday night.
The Police Chief said investigators have established that before his death, Brown and his suspected accomplice, Prince Galawolo, had multiple phone conversations, which aroused the interest of investigators.
When was invited by police, Suspect Garlawolo admitted knowing the deceased and narrated that the both of them usually go on expeditions to nap the cattle of local farmers.
Galawolo said their latest attempt on Thursday resulted in the killing of Chris Davies.
The suspect who allegedly fired on the deceased, a local Farmer Henry Tucker who also is in Police custody, admitted to the incident.
Tucker said he has been the victim of repeated cattle theft and a result, when he was again attacked last week, he engaged the assassins, which led to the inadvertant death of Chris Davies.
Police Inspector General Patrick Sude said so far the findings they are gathering are preliminary and after conclusion, the suspects will be forwarded to court in accordance with law.
He called on the public to be patience as the investigation continues and refrain from speculations that could jeopardize the inquest.
