The people of Slipway and Crown Hill Communities have elected Isaac K. Krah as the new chairman of the community.
The Slipway community election was halted due to serious confusion among the candidate’s supporters last year.
The election which was conducted recently under the supervision of an Adhoe Election Committee of the Slipway and Crown Hill Development Association under major present of some officers of the Liberia National Police (LNP) to prevent disruption at the polling center from residents of the community.
According to the Chairman of the Adhoe Election Committee, Augustine Zoldual, the electoral process has been conducted in order manner among the residents in the communities.
Chairman Zoldual noted that the electorates were patient and calm to participate in the decision making process of the community through the ballot box.
He stated that the positions of the financial secretary, assistant secretary general and secretary General were contested on unopposed, but the chairmanship position has four candidates and the Co-chair position has two candidates.
He pointed out that Edith D. Williams and Edward Wilson are contestants for the Co-chair position; however, Madam Edith D. Williams was elected with 289 votes against 117 for Edward Wilson.
Chairman Zoldual indicated that the contestants for the chair position are Abraham G. Williams, Fofe Soko Sirleaf, Soko M. Kali and Isaac K. Krah, but Isaac K. Krah won with 369 votes against 4 votes for Abraham G. Williams, 19 votes for Fofe Soko Sirleaf and 9 votes for Koso M. Kali.
According to him, those elected are Isaac K. Krah Chairman, Edith D. Williams Co-Chairlady, Perry K. Nyantee Secretary General, Paye Gbamie Financial Secretary and Vace K. Bayouh Assistant Secretary General.
