Liberia: Ailing 15-year-old girl accused of ‘witchcraft’ finally dies in Nimba

Liberia Public Radio has learnt that  a 15-year – old girl identified as Nohn Domah who has been   ill-treated by her biological on suspicion of   being  a witchcraft has finally passed out following months of treatments.

Nohn Domah who appeared very malnourished is been accused of causing misfortune for her parents Mr. Eric Domah and Mrs. Mamie Domah, both of whom have since abandoned her.

Family members of the maltreated child had not actually established the exact witchcraft activities she is involved into.

But Mr. Domah told Liberia Public Radio correspondent in Nimba  that he actually wanted to take Nohn to the hospital but there is no finance.

Little Nohn Domah was later given clothes after LPR published her situation on December 28

He furthered explained that due to the alleged act by his daughter, he has borrowed money to have her safe no way.

According to he has taken the girl case before the commissioner of the township in which they live and by January  2021 little Nohn will be  made to take oath in order to vindicate herself. 

 Nohn stays with her both parents in the LPRC Community in Ganta who have since stop catering to her for being witchcraft

Under the Liberian law, there is no provision that recognizes witchcraft.

According to officials of the Ministry of Gender little Nohn died on Tuesday March 2, 2021 in Nimba following months of treatment for tuberculosis and liver complications.

Many children in Liberia have been mishandled on suspicion of being in ‘juju’ or ‘witchcraft’.
