COvid-19: Central Liberia records first suspected Coronavirus case

The medical director of Phebe hospital, Dr. Jefferson Sibley, has announced a suspected case of the deadly coronavirus disease in Bong County.

Dr. Sibley told Super Bongese – a local radio station in Gbarnga via phone Thursday – that the suspected person had been isolated and the sample was collected for further verification. “The patient is in isolation, the sample collected and the results will be out Friday,” Dr. Sibley said.

Continuing, he added: Specimens were taken Monday and we expect the result in latest Friday. Yes, there is a suspected COVID-19 case at Phebe Hospital.”

Meanwhile, Bong County superintendent Esther Walker had also confirmed the suspected case, but assured residents that the Bong County Health Team was on top of the situation.
Walker appealed to citizens of the county as the suspect was being closely monitored.
