Bong County Superintendent Madam Esther Yamah Walker has repeatedly been caught in web of missing her functions as Superintendent and accused of misleading the citizens about several issues from central government.

This time around doing the public that the work of health authorities in the County.

It can be recalled early Monday morning April 20, Madam Walker unilaterally announced to the public that there are six suspected cases of the Corona virus disease in the county.

Since the Superintendent pronouncement, many people wondered while will Madam Esther Walker pronounce suspected cases of the virus when health authorities in the county haven,t done so.

The citizens described act of the Superintendent as undermining and has the propensity of causing residents of the county to live in total  fear and despair.

Liberia Public Radio Bong County Correspondent Belthan Tano in an exclusive interview with Madam Walker recently in Gbarnga said she was only doing what is best as superintendent of the county and was not doing the work of health authority in the county.

The Bong county Superintendent who is noted for aggressively addressing major issues of public concerns in the county has been criticized by many citizens for always missing her functions as the direct representation of the President in the county.

“She unilaterally announced suspected cases of COVID-19 here”, said one youth activist who begged for anonymity for fear of repression.

According to him the zest of Madam Walker should rather be diverted to doing some development initiatives in the county instead of doing the work of technocrats without consultations.

It can also be recalled that following the declaration of the state of Emergency by President Weah on April 8, 2020 was  relayed by Superitendent Walker to include Bong County in the 14 days lockdown that was only intended for 4 counties; Montserrado, Nimba, Margibi and Grand Kru Counties.

Our correspondent quoted many residents in the county as saying that the decision by superintendent Esther Walker to include Bong County in the 14 day lockdown and stay-home order was  a complete  misrepresentation of president Weah’s statement.
