Liberia’s First Lady Clar Marie Weah’s continuing adolescent girls’ engagement initiative took center stage in Kakata, Margibi County Tuesday, April 20, with hundreds in attendance.
The engagement, initiated by Mrs. Weah, is being conducted on the sidelines of the ongoing 2021 Presidential County Tour.
It allows the First Lady to share her personal life experience with the girls, educating them on menstrual hygiene and inspiring them to reach for their life dreams.
With several ongoing initiatives to better the lives of women and girls through the She’s You Movement and Clar Hope Foundation, Mrs. Weah disclosed that she wants to impact every girl across Liberia.
As a passionate and selfless mother, Mrs. Weah said before the end of her First Ladyship she wants to positively touch the life of every girl child in ways that they’ll never forget.
While reaffirming her commitment to a huge gathering of uniformed female students of ages 12 to 17 and from various schools in Kakata, Mrs. Weah emphasized that as First Lady, girls across the country should look up to her as their mother.
The interaction between the First Lady and the girls was quite insightful and heartwarming as participants were excited to meet with the wife of a sitting President and learn so much from her.
Offering pieces of advice, Mrs. Weah urged the girls to always keep themselves clean and neat by observing good personal hygiene and be respectful, humble, determined and hardworking so as to succeed in life.
As a gift and boost to the promotion of good personal hygiene among girls, the First Lady distributed hundreds of hygiene kits.
The First Lady’s adolescent girls’ engagement is expected to be held in Grand Bassa and other counties as the Presidential County Tour rolls out its third leg.
Similar Initiatives were held in Bomi and Grand Cape Mount Counties.
