The Deust Logistic Company(DLC) wants Liberian Government to intervene to curtail the huge bureaucratic associated with the processing of containers documents from the Free Port of Liberia.
According to the Manager of DLC, J. Deuteronomy Killon, the bureaucratic to clear containers within specific time frames are becoming more difficult on the daily basic which is undermining the smooth working process of clearing agents at the Free Port.
Kollon was speaking when the company was honored as a very Good, Reliable and Productive Logistics Tricking Company by the Society for the Promotion of Peace, National Reconciliation and Reunification(SPPNRR)held its Head Office at Free Port on the Bushrod Island outside Monrovia.
He noted that as a Liberian Company, striving to ensure that shipping system of containers are efficient and effective to unload containers under the company care according to the specific time, but the too much of bureaucratic is impeding the company effective function.
According to him, the one stop shopping center instituted to process documents faster for container at the Free Port is not effective like before and this should be tackled to enhance the clearing of containers more faster.
Manager Kollon stressed that the processing of documentation to clear containers from the Free Port is taking longer time as the result of bureaucratic at the banks and the APM Terminal.
He explained that clients should be patience with the clearing agents, adding they are working around the clock to ensure that their containers are clear on time.
He pinpointed that the intervention central government will go a long way to fast track the process of documentation and improve the clearing system more faster than now.
Manager Kollon asserted that Liberians are well competent to operate effective shipping system, but government needs to support Liberian Companies that are striving the made the difference within the shipping sector.
The occasion was embraced by workers of DLC, members of the National Customs Brokers Association of Liberia including other clearing agents .
