The adage that “charity begins at home” was demonstrated on Friday, December 3, 2021 by the Leecy-Chioma Foundation when donation was made to the less privileged at Redemption Hospital.

The Leecy-Chioma Foundation is a vision for a 2 year-old school going girl little Leecy-Chioma Zara M. Nyamalon  whose parents, especially the mother, referred to her as a joy and fulfillment desire from God.

Attired in yellow t-shirts bearing her pictures with inscriptions Leecy at two and black trousers team Leecy headed by her mother Mercy Flomo was seen in the corridors of Redemption Hospital presenting assorted items to mothers at the children ward and the nurses in observance of her second birth anniversary celebration.

Mercy Flomo explained the  vision came from inspiration of her daughter who she see as a motivation and a driving force to strive for  success.

Making the donations the mother of little girl termed the gesture as a ‘meaningful venture’ in observance of Leecy’s 2nd birthday and an appreciation to God for bestowing the pride of motherhood upon her.

“This year I don’t want to throw a big party for my daughter’s birthday, I want to raise funds and give to the needy on her behalf” she said.

Mercy stressed that the Foundation is a path Leecy will trend and appreciate more at the adult stage knowing that she can contribute to society positively.

Praises for Nurses

Leecy’s mother extolled the nurses for their sacrificial services to humanity, ensuring that babies and children at the center receive the needed treatment and care.

“I want to tell God thank you for the nurses you people are doing a very great job especially caring for little children” Mercy added.

According to her, rightful services when provided for pregnant women would contribute to the needed result of safe delivery, urging the mothers and pregnant women to exhibit a positive attitude during treatment.

“When you enter here enter with faith to get the proper care and if today Leecy can be in school is because of God, I used to be

thinking that she would have been slow in school” Leecy Mother emphasized.

Mercy Flomo claims the foundation aims to give back to society through a lifesaving initiative with focus on outreach to the less privileged in hospitals, especially the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Children Wards.

The donation included several assorted items including diapers, wipes and rice.
