Ivorian Government Resumes Political Dialogue with Oppositions

The spokesperson for the Ivorian government, Amadou Coulibaly, announced on Wednesday the resumption of political dialogue for December 16, 2021, following a Council of Ministers meeting in Abidjan.

“The political dialogue is announced to resume, letters have already been sent to the various members the date is December 16 2021 at the Prime Minister’s office, at 9 a.m. (GMT, local time)”, said Mr. Adama Coulibaly.

In terms of modality, the spokesperson for the Ivorian government said that it is one representative per party or political group and two other people expected for the discussions.

It can be recalled on November 8, 2021 in Abidjan, the Ivorian Prime Minister Patrick Achi, noted that “the political dialogue has never stopped”, because “President Alassane Ouattara has his hand extended and remains open to other political actors in the country “.

“Thanks to the initiatives taken by the president, from the meeting with Mr. Bédié to the one that took place on July 27 with Mr. Gbagbo, in a climate of solemnity and fraternity, Ivorian democracy is advancing in peace , tolerance and dialogue, “he said.

Former president Laurent Gbargbo and his political party have recently vowed to participate in the upcoming presidential election after he arrived in the country earlier this year.
