Grand Gedeh District #1 representative Erol Madison Gwion is dead.
According to family sources, Rep. Gwion died early Tuesday morning while battling illness in Accra, Ghana.
The Tchien district representative was first elected in 2020 following a by-election created by the victory of former Rep Zoe Emmanuel Pennue in the 2020 special Senatorial election.
Rep Gwion was recently re-elected in the October 10 elections to serve his constituents for a six-year term before meeting his demise.
Earlier last month, the Honorable House of Representatives Press Bureau Director had trashed news circulating on social media platforms that the Lawmaker was dead, but confirmed that he was battling illness.
His death comes just day to official certification by the National Elections Commission which is scheduled for December 8, 2023 in Monrovia
He is the fourth Lawmakers to have died during the Weah led administration since 2018.
Tension in Grand Gedeh
Tension is building up in Zwedru as angry crowd sets ablaze Traditional council office in the county following the death of Rep Erol Madison Gwion.
According to our National correspondent in Southeastern Liberia, some supporters of the late lawmaker are pointing fingers at the sister of the late lawmaker Beatrice Gwion for his death.
She is believed to be of the Traditional council in Grand Gedeh County.
Supporters of the late lawmaker accused his sister of pulling powder on his neck during his victory celebration recently upon getting re-elected as representative in the October 10 election.
The angry also attacked the home of Senator Zoe Emmanuel Pennue.
It remains unclear the cause of death of Rep Gwion.
