A three-year Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) has been signed by Sethi Ferro Fabrik’s management and employees with the goal of improving working conditions at the steel company.
The National Union of Hospitalities, Aviation, Communication, and Energy Workers (NUHACE), the workers’ bargaining representative, signed the agreement on their behalf.
The objectives of this three-year CBA are to improve workers’ welfare, provide a respectable working environment, and foster labor unity.

“The CBA is founded on the principles of decent work, which emphasize social dialogue as well as the protection, welfare, and permanent employment of all workers,” said Baryou Wallace, president of NUHACE.

Sethi Ferro Fabrik is a Liberian firm that produces steel and zinc and is a member of the Sethi Group of Companies.
According to Rufus Saydee, Assistant Labor Minister for Trade Union and Social Protection, 40–70% of Liberian workers must be unionized, he added that the Ministry of Labor is committed to a procedure that guarantees Liberian workers’ ability to form trade unions, Minister Saydee stated.
Speaking at the Garnerville event recently, Minister Saydee praised Sethi’s management for their level of cooperation in reaching the agreement.
