The Director-General of the National Bureau of Concessions (NBC) has refuted a letter circulating on Facebook alleging that he has resigned his post as a mere “Facebook post” which should not be given credence.

Mr.  Gregory Coleman told FrontPageAfrica on Sunday that he remains the “number one man at NBC.”

The face book post attributed that Coleman had thanked the President for reposing his (President’s) confidence in him (Coleman) by giving him the post. It also added that Coleman continues in the letter in which he counted his long years of service to the nation dating back to the 1990s when he joined the Liberia National Police as a patrolman.

In the   fourth paragraph, that the leeter alleged that Coleman was resigning and asked the President that he wants to finally leave by the end of August if President approves.

But when this newspaper contacted Coleman, he categorically denied any knowledge of the resignation letter. He said still remains the Director General at the NBC.

On Saturday, August 3, a statement on the letter head of the NBC and bearing the signature of DG Coleman, denied the fake resignation letter and clarified that Coleman is still in charge at the NBC.

It said: “I want to use this opportunity to clarify the letter that has been circulated about my resignation as Director General of the National Bureau of Concessions.

“I remain the Director General in charge of the National Bureau of Concessions and I am grateful for the confidence His Excellency President George M. Weah has reposed in me.”

Liberian President George Weah last Friday suspended his two deputies  Daddy Gibson, Deputy Director-General for Administration and Nathaniel Bracewell, Deputy Director-General for Concession at the National Bureau of Concession.

The two was said to have had   fist fight with him[Coleman] at his office on last Thursday.

Gregory Coleman, former police Inspector General in the latter part of the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf regime was among the first batch of government  appointees nominated President George Manneh Weah shortly after taking office in 2018.

He has not been at peace with his two deputies in recent weeks due to what he termed “internal wrangling”.
