Local group embarks on COVID-19 awareness in Kokoya Bong County

The Multi Stakeholders Platform (MSP), a local Civil Society organization based in Kokoyah Statutory District, electoral District #1 Bong County has embarked on public awareness and sensitization about COVID-19 in Senwien clean, Boinsen Sub-District.

The Multi Stakeholders platform (MSP) Based organization with financial support from MNG Gold company according to its chairlady Madam Rose p. Somah  the initiative  is basically intended to curb the spread of the deadly Coronavirus in the Country.

 She explained to the gathering that the awareness will help citizens in the area, to take the basic preventive measures in combating the human killer disease.

MSP Secretary General Andrew Kermue told Liberia Public Radio that the objective of the organization is to build and maintain peace and mutual understanding between MNG Gold Liberia and the 21 projects affected communities in the District.

 He added that the platform will strengthen conflict prevention through constant dialogue, with local MNG Gold Mining Company and other institutions within Kokoyah Statutory District.

The MSP the Secretary general however said that, the main function of the platform  is to serve as bridge between the company and local  citizens in implementing some of the MOU made by the Company and the Citizens, he also said awareness will cover  six towns and villages in Boinsen District,   and the process is expected to climax on Saturday May 23, 2020.

The awareness was attended  by some local government officials including the district  superintendent Hon. Conteng Yallah and other local leaders that graced the occasion.
