Following a recent comment made by Nimba controversial Senator Prince Yormie Johnson in leaked audio, Nimba County District #5 Representative, Samuel G. Kogar has called on citizens of the county to vote the senator out during the 2023 general and presidential elections.
Making the assertion during a live telephone conversation on a local radio station in the commercial city of Gompa, Representative Korgar described the senator statement as “devilish” and “out of order”.
According to Rep. Korgar, it was ‘unthinkable’, and ‘ungodly’, for a senior government official of the county and country like senator Johnson to have made such a statement about other prominent sons of the county.
“Senator Johnson must be voted out in 2023 I can tell you for free, he is not helping us as a county”
The leaked audio of senator Johnson is the second in less than three weeks.
It can be recalled of recent, Senator Prince Johnson was heard in his first leaked audio throwing invectives at another well-known son of the county Dr. Kardehkeh Rex Dahn describing his PhD degree as fake.
“Your doctory degree is fake and n in your fuc*****king pocket” was heard saying Senator Johnson.
The Nimba county self-proclaimed godfather was elected in 2005 at the house of Parliament with the highest vote and elected for the second time in the 2014 special senatorial election when he defeated his major contender, Madam Edith Gongloe-Weh.
Speaking further in the telephone interview on Tuesday, August 11, 2020, Rep. Kogar strongly condemned comments made by Senator Johnson in the leaked audio in which he rambled of the deaths of some prominent citizens of the county including Hon. Benedict Z. Bartuah.
“I want to denounce those comments in the strongest term. For this kind of statement to come from a senior Senator of a county is unfortunate,” said.
In a recently leaked audio that went viral on social media, Senator Johnson boastfully said he has a powerful God and anyone who fights against him cannot succeed.
“When you fight me you will fall. When Benedict Bartuah tried, he died, When George Korkor tried, he died; when David Tuah tried, he died; when Thomas Grupee tried, he became cripple” Senator Prince Johnson voice in the leaked audio.
Opened Apology on behalf Senator Johnson
The District # 5 policymaker wants Senator Johnson to openly apologize to citizens of the county especially family members of those he bragged of their deaths in the leaked audio.
“Senator Johnson needs to openly apologize to the people of Nimba county. Nimba county people need to come to their senses, We elected Senator Johnson to represent our interest not to be making such statements, an honorable person must remain decent and honorable at all times”.
He used the occasion and consoled members of the bereaved families, saying he is not in support of the Senator’s comments.
Recently, the Bartuah’s family issued a strong worded press statement demanding Senator Johnson to openly apologize to the family.
In the press release, the family described the senator’s statement as barbaric, unhuman, counterproductive and a recipe for conflict.
They claimed that the senator should give proper explanation about his assertion or be dragged to court.
