Former Vice President Boakai said no one is best suited to lead Liberia currently

Liberia’s former Vice President Joseph Nyuma Boakai says the country lacks good leadership and for this, he is the best person to deliver Liberians from the several problems the country is faced with.

Speaking during his appearance on Sky 107.1 FM (50 50 program with T. Max Jlateh) on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 in Monrovia, former Vice President Boakai maintained that there is no Liberian politician well prepared than him to move the country forward come the 2023 elections.

The Unity Party Standard Bearer added that based on his long time experience in national leadership, he is the only well suited person to provide mature leadership to transform the nation to better stage.

Boakai has previously serv as Agriculture Minister and Managing Director of the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC) and that of the Liberia Produce Marketing Corporation (LPMC) before becoming Vice President of Liberia.

According to the former Vice President, leadership is not about “Yourself but stewardship and making opportunities for everyone irrespective to their parties or tribes.”

The former VP added that Liberia is currently down due to “bad governance” exhibited by the Weah’s government.

Boakai admitted that he was a “race car” parked in the garage during the administration of former president Ellen Johnson Sirleaf as Vice President but he is now well prepared to unseat current president George Weah.

Mr. Boakai, 76, was defeated by current president George Weah in 2017 obtaining 38.0% behind George Weah 62%

He told the famous 50-50 talk-show on Wednesday that the restriction will enable the minister to ascertain first hand understanding about the challenges in rural Liberia, and design programs that will be communicated with the world.

Former Vice President Boakai said no one is best suited to lead Liberia currently than him, owing to his vast experience in public service and understanding of the country’s problem.

According to him most of his policy will be based on what he calls “ARTS” (Agriculture, Roads, Tourism and Sanitation) in order to move the country forward from it’s current dying economic status.

The former Vice President mentioned that most of the people currently do have no idea of what the citizens are going through as such the country’s economy is in problem.
