President Weah reconstructs United Da’ wah Ummah in memory of 28 Islamic schoolboys

Liberian president George Weah has rebuilt and dedicated a mosque near the capital Monrovia where 28 Islamic school boys and their 2 teachers were killed in a fire two years after the incident.
President George Manneh Weah on Friday, August 27, 2021 dedicated the newly Constructed United Da’ wah Ummah Mosque and School destroyed mosque in Paynesville, aimed at taking away the sorrows of those who lost their relatives.
The Mosque which has a school annex host nearly 5,000 Islamic worshippers and 200 Students to study who are studying the Arabic language.

In his remark, President Weah said the newly Constructed United Da’ wah Ummah mosque facility is a testament to a commitment he made went the facility was destroyed, and least 28 Islamic students met their untimely death.
The President said the untimely death of the students brought sorrows to the nation, something that brought tears from his eyes, therefore the construction of the mosque erases sorrow from the heart of Muslims and parents of the kids who died in the fire at the time the mosque was destroyed.

The Liberian Leader said the construction of the Mosque was part of “heart touching commitment” that he pleaded with the Qatar Foundation to fund the project so that Muslim will erase sorrow of the death of their kids.
In his tribute memories to the deceased students, President Weah describes their loss as a regrettable one and a sad day for him, families and the entire nation. He said it is regrettable that the future of the students was cut short in such a manner.
“Today, we are here to dedicate this new building to replace the one destroyed by the fire,” the President said. “I wish the Islamic young scholars were alive. It’s saddening that they are not here.”
President however noted that the death of the students did not go in vain in that a new school building is risen out of the ashes to the benefit of other students who will use it to claim their future.
The Liberian chief executive, also expressed hope that this time a decision has been reached not to make the school boring as precautions against any future occurrence.
He then commended the Government of Qatar for the indispensable role it continues to play in Liberia’s development, including funding provided for the reconstruction of the United Da’wah Mosque and School in the Redlight Community, Paynesville outside Monrovia.

On the early morning hours of September 18, 2019 several Islamic school boys were trapped by a huge fire in a building that attached to a mosque killing at least 28 of them and their teachers.
The fire accordingly to police report was caused by an electrical fault.
