Lightning Strike kills five children in Nimba

The five children were buried in a mass grave later on Monday
A lightning strike has killed 5 children and injured three others in Dahnlorpa Town, Sanniquellie City, Nimba County, northeastern Liberia.
The incident occurred Saturday evening during a light rainfall.
 
The children, aged 3 to 9, were playing outdoor when the rain forced them to shelter in a nearby booth which was struck by the lightning.
 
Four of the five kids instantly while the other died at the health facility.
The victims, 3 girls 2 boys, belong to the same family.
 
LPR’s regional correspondent in Sanniquellie Nimba county said the five children have since been buried in a massive grave inline with local tradition.
Our correspondent said the incident is the first time in recent time.
 
Lightening strikes are common in Liberia where rainfalls are heavy from may to mid October.
In 2020, four persons were killed by Lightening in Grand Cape Mount County.
