Peace Home-Community Clinic not blame for child’s death; Parents cool despite Media reports

Peace home medical clinic and school of health assistants, located in Neezoe Community, Paynesville, outside Monrovia, is cleared of a tragic event, that led to the premature death of 1year- 8 months old AC Nagbeh.

The one-year old baby, whose parents are from Woodcamp Paynesville, suffered from several chronic illnesses prematurely, died eight hours later, after being admitted and then discharged from the Peace home Medical Clinic Neezo branch in Paynesville.

Speaking to Journalists, on condition of which the child died, the mother of late AC Nagbeh, Madam Marther Flomo, said they were worried when their daughter developed a high temperature and took her to several local clinics, who turned them down before landing at the Peace Home Medical Clinic, where the child  was initially assessed and responded to treatment.

 Martha Flomo added that  few hours later the fever worsened, which rises the concern of her parents, whom took her to an unnamed nearby Community Clinic in Pipeline Paynesville community, late Friday evening of April 8, 2022, were she was pronounced dead.

According to narratives from Marther Flomo, mother of the little AC Nagbeh, they couldn’t return to Peace home medical clinic, because of the emergency attach to the worsening of the fever and the exorbitant so charge at the Peace home medical clinic, therefore decided to rush with the child, to nearby clinic in Pipeline community, Paynesville, there she suddenly died as a results of misapplication of drugs, as she was told by Authorities at the local clinic, upon receiving the death news of her daughter.

“My baby, was taken home, because we couldn’t afford the amount of money, the Clinic was charging for treatment, beside she was responding well, at the time, but suddenly when we got home, few hours later, her condition began worsening and we just couldn’t return to “Peace home”,because of the huge service charge and the emergency attach to her illness, something, that frightened us, and we were so worry, therefore we decided to rush her to a clinic in Pipeline community, were she dies, the despair Martha Flomo intoned.

Madam Flomo, further narrated that prior to the death of her Child, she was rejected by several other clinics, and later accepted and admitted at the Peace home medical clinic in Neezo Community, there she told nurses on ground, the medical history of her daughter and family, of which she advise that “(Quinine)” a medication used to treat malaria and babesiosis, shouldn’t be given to her daughter, because of the negative medical history of the family, but unfortunately she was told by the local clinic in which little AC Nagbeh died, that the previous medical facility had administered the wrong drugs to the child, which cause the death.

“I was told that my child die from overdose at “Peace home” she said in tears, it’s unfortunate for me, because I told the nurse, not to apply the quinine drip to the child, it wasn’t good and will cause serious harm for her, unfortunate she apply an overdose of the Quinine medication, not knowing to me, but I saw the child responding well, and began playing, therefore” I decided to take her home, were she could continue with the medication, simply because of the exorbitants charge at this Clinic, not knowing it could’ve end like this, my child could died, because of wrong application of drugs she accused, the Peace Home- Medical Clinic, administration.

Martha Flomo, further said upon the death news of her daughter, at the Clinic in Pipeline, She was told by a nurse only identify as Jallah Mollie, that an overdosed with inappropriate and unsual medication “Quinine” had killed her daughter.

Madam Flomo, further said after her daughter developing the illness on the evening of April 7, 2022, She rush with the child to several medical facility in and around Paynesville, whom decline rendering medical service to the babe, but it was Peace home medical clinic in Neezo community, accepted and admitted the child, later did she realize the child was responding to treatment, but the huge service charge at the Clinic, prompted the her request to take the child home to continue the medication.

When I saw my Child responding well, I decided to take her home to continue the medication, because the money was too much, $11,000.00 for treatment was just too much to continue overstayed and treatment at the Clinic, so decided to take her home, tearful Martha Flomo, narrated.

It’s unfortunate she has die and “Peace home” killed her, because they, administer the wrong drugs to the girl, she intoned.

On the part of the Peace home medical clinic and Health Assistant School in Neezoe, community Paynesville, the Chief Executive Officer and founder of the Peace home medical clinic, Joseph Boakai said medical staff at the clinic are Completely “disheartened” that they could not save a 1-year -eight months old baby, diagnosed with 2+ Malaria.

He said the child was brought to the Peace home medical clinic, at around 4:45am on thursday morning, April 7, 2022, suffering multiples malaria and other health complication, but unfortunately he were informed by the father of the child, only identify as Emmanuel Willie that the child has passed off, but appreciated his facility for the help render, prior to her death.

“Unfortunately this child has die, and we just couldn’t save her life, Boakai said in sorrows, I feel so much pain not only in my heart as a medical practitioner to lose a human life, but as a father too with so many children to lose a baby, who life would make difference, Boakai said.

I wasn’t on ground when the child was admitted at my Clinic, but I received a call from the father, about the unfortunate news, thereby appreciating my facility for the service, but that wasn’t the case as I am hurting by the death news, Dr. Boakai said.

He, on behalf of the Peace home medical clinic render apologies to the Family for the death of child, and blasted at nurses at his facility, for allowing the patient to leave the clinic, without the completion of her medication, something he term as negligence on their part allow the child life to be lost.

In a brief interview with the father of the decease, Emmanuel Willie, said he is not shifting any blame on the Peace home medical clinic for his daughter death, but said he is saddened by what has happen.

Mr. Willie said there’s no circumstances concerning death, but voice that his daughter has suffer fever and diarrhea, prior to her death, and had visited six different medical facilities, which declined in rendering service to the decease, but it was the Peace home medical clinic, whom stood and aided on the emergency.

Willie, added at  first, while he was present at  Clinic facility, a nurse, he couldn’t properly identify  administered a drip, containing glucose, as his Child responded well, and began playing, only for he to leave the Clinic facility, the same morning, later his fiancée inform he that they were discharging the child, on ground, of the expensive at the Clinic and besides the child was okay, Willie said.

Later did him, return home and met his daughter lying weak and helpless, and suddenly confronted her Mother, who told he that the girl came home healthier, but the last  drip given to her was misapplication of the quinine drugs, something she had advised the nurse on administering, but she resisted and had told the mother the girl was doing well, Mr. Willie stated.
