Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die, and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.” Philippians 1:21
It is with profound sorrow that the Browne, Gehyarlee, and Gbolor families announce the homegoing of their dearest son, brother, husband, father, nephew, uncle, cousin, colleague, and friend, Sam Gehyarlee Browne, 55, of Pawtucket, RI. This sad event occurred on Monday, May 20, 2024, at 2:55 p.m. at the Mass General Hospital in Boston, MA, surrounded by loved ones after a brief period of illness.
He was born and raised in Liberia within an interconnected family and kinsmen, which led to his deep value for family, as it is said, “It takes a village to raise a child” and Sam was a child raised well by the village.
Sam was a gentle soul, a Christian believer, a loving husband, caring father, family oriented, friend to many and very hardworking. He always showed gratitude and had smiles and conversational charisma that impacted the lives of those who had the opportunity to meet him when he engaged in conversations. He was kind, respectful and always willing to lend a hand. He enjoyed watching sports and listening to CNN. The Boston Celtics was his favorite NFL Team, He also loved to read and participate in community development activities. He was a Teacher in the Providence School Department, where he shared his knowledge, a businessman, and an astute accountant. Education was very pivotal in his household; he was hopeful about the future and was looking forward to doing lot more prior to his demise.
Sam was loved, his memory will forever be in our hearts. He will be remembered by his strong commitment to his family, his positive energy and love for having good times with family and friends, he will be sorely missed.
Sam G. Browne leaves to mourn and cherish his memory, his beautiful, loving, and caring wife Mrs. Precillar Gbolor Browne, his children, Sam Bush, Samray Gehmenie, Elijah Goodwin and adopted children. His siblings: aunts, uncles, nieces; nephews; cousins; In-laws a host of other relatives; colleagues, and friends in the United States and Liberia.
