The Press Union of Liberia has with immediate effect expelled reporter Sekou Sheriff of Freedom FM and ban him from all of the Union activities and functions.

It  decision follows the unruly  conduct of reporter Sheriff who early Monday destroyed the tentative voters roll of the PUL at the Union’s Headquarters on Clay Street.

The Liberian journalist last weekend threatened violent actions against the Leadership of the Union if his name was not included on the listing by Monday, November 4 .

Sekou who claimed to be an agent of the National Security Agency (NSA) was accompanied by other NSA agents.

Sheriff works for Freedom FM, owned by Deputy NSA Director, Sam Siryon.

The station declared unprofessional and notable for broadcasting messages with great potential to plunge the country into conflict.

The Liberian journalists union  has informed the Ministry of Justice on the use of National Security Agency (NSA) agents to vandalize the Union’s Information Stands or bulletin board.

Mr. Sheriff ripped off the provisional listing on the PUL on grounds that his name was not included.

His action has received widespread condemnation from the general membership of the Union and all candidates in the enduring elections and members of the public .

Journalist Sheriff is an Associate member of the Union who is not qualified to participate in PUL 2019 Congress. A journalist has to practice for at  least five years before becoming a full member.

The PUL goes to Congress from the 7-9 of November 2019 at the SKD Stadium outside Monrovia.
