Monrovia City Mayor Jefferson Koijee disclosed that he has voluntarily turned in for COVID-19 testing at one of the centers in Monrovia.

Mayor Koijee said it is time Liberians do away with fear to have their COVID-19 test done to help contain the spread of the virus in Liberia.

He said the virus is not a death sentence because there are lots of people who are now recovering from the coronavirus pandemic which makes it encouraging.

Mayor Koijee noted that it is important to have the test done rather than assumption  which can endanger lives.

“It is better for you to know your status and for you to be thinking and circulation, whether you safe or you not safe”

The MCC Boss on Friday June 12, made the disclosure when the World Bank CLUS Project donated waste management tools to the Corporation in the fight against COVD-19.

According to him, leaders must lead by example to create confidence as well as motivation for the citizenry.

The MCC Boss called on workers and casual laborers of the corporation to submit for COVID-19 testing.

“We are going beyond, even me as a person I have gone to do my test so you can be motivated and inspire”

Mayor Koijee stressed that employees of MCC will be given two weeks to run their test, noting after that is done the citizenry would be informed about the health status of all MCC workers.

According to him, the testing exercise that is beginning with MCC would spread to every household across Monrovia.

Jefferson Koijee claimed the corporation is committed to take every necessary step that might be of essence for the growth and development of the country.

Prior to Mayor Jefferson Koijee testing there has been public outcry for President George Weah to take the lead, especially, when some close officials of government came down with the virus.
